Who Are We?
Ondokuz Mayıs University Yaşar Doğu Faculty of Sports Sciences is an educational institution that has achieved considerable success since its establishment, thanks to its academics who contribute to the updating of academic knowledge and the shaping of theory internationally, its suitable physical infrastructure, its management and cultural climate that supports innovation, and its conscientious students. Founded in 1990, our faculty has 99 professors, 13 associate professors, 1 assistant professor, 4 research assistants, 2 teaching assistants, 4 research assistants, and 8 instructors, and 1,662 students are enrolled.
What Have Our Students Achieved Through These Facilities?
Our faculty has a Gymnastics Hall, Massage Hall, Wrestling Hall, Karate Hall, Fitness Hall, Archery Hall, Judo Hall, 2 Tennis Courts, and 2 Indoor Sports Halls. Our students, who have the opportunity to reinforce the theoretical and practical knowledge they acquire in class at the relevant units, have achieved many successes at the national and international level to date.
What Are Our Programs and the Job Opportunities They Offer?
Thanks to the skills they acquire at our faculty, our students are employed in jobs that can be summarized under the headings of physical education teaching, coaching, sports expert, youth leader or civil servant in youth and sports directorates, coaching in sports clubs, working in private gyms, refereeing, massage therapy, and management.
What International Exchange Programs Do We Offer Our Students?
Our faculty has student exchange agreements under the Farabi, Mevlana, and Erasmus programs. Our students actively benefit from these exchange programs, and the experience they gain contributes to broadening their perspectives in their fields of expertise.
How Do We Support the Professional, Cultural, and Social Atmosphere?
Our students have organized numerous events and activities within their communities to date. Many activities are carried out at our faculty to promote sports awareness, organize panels on sports-related innovations, hold social and cultural events (walks, etc.), and direct children and adults to exercise activities for sports courses.
